A man was arrested late Saturday night after he fled officers in a high-speed chase through Wood County.
Christopher Ostrum, 47 of Wisconsin Rapids was arrested for felony fleeing and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department also recommended felony fleeing charges.
The Wood County Sheriff's Department said it all began in Wisconsin Rapids as police tried to make a traffic stop on Ostrums car. He did not stop and instead sped Westbound down West Grand Avenue. He then continued to flee west on South 73/80. The officers terminated their pursuit, but were able to obtain the vehicle's license plate information.
Pittsville Police then assisted, taking over the pursuit they said they noticed Ostrum driving at unsafe speeds. When officers caught up with the car, they attempted to make a stop, however Ostrum fled again. Officers said he was driving at speeds of 95 to 100 miles per hour.
Wood County Deputies spiked the tires near South 80 and County Highway EE. The pursuit ended in Marshfield. No one was injured and no property was damaged.
