A multi-million dollar preservation project to update the Grand Theatre in Wausau is making progress.

So Far, the theatre has replaced the limestone blocks along the sidewalk and upgraded its aging sound system. Thursday, crews were working to install a new custom stained glass window at the main entrance.

The glass design firm helping with the project is excited to play a role in improving the look of the building.

"It is thrilling to be a part of this Grand Theatre update and this will actually make the front of the building look much bigger," Explains Janine Daniels of Woodland Glass Arts.

Future goals for updating the theatre include replacing the floor inside the building as well as adding a new lighting system.
