UPDATE: Lincoln County Sheriff's, Suspect Found

UPDATE: The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office says that they've arrested the suspect in this matter, Steven M. Wrzesinski, 33.

He was taken into custody this morning on an unrelated Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant. The matter remains under investigation.

At this point in the investigation, we're told, no charges are being recommended for Mr. Wrzesinksi by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in reference to his involvement in this incident.

The matter is being forwarded to the Lincoln County District Attorney's office for review.

Lincoln County sheriff's deputies spent several hours Friday night searching for an armed man.

Most of the effort Friday night focused on a rural area a few miles north of the intersection of Highway 64 and County E in the Town of Harding, which is West of Merrill.

A Lincoln County sheriff's lieutenant tells NewsChannel 7 they were called to a home with the report of a domestic dispute at about 5:45 Friday evening.

The man involved fled the scene prior to deputies getting there. He was reportedly carrying a rifle.

Deputies searched for about 3.5 hours. They called it off just before 10 when they deemed there was no danger to the public.

A check with the department Saturday morning indicated they were expected to release more information Saturday afternoon.
