A Langlade County home is total loss after a fire Monday night.

Multiple departments responded to the fire around 8:20 pm about 15 miles east of Antigo in the Town of Elton. The Wolf River Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief says the family was not home at the time of the fire. No one was injured but the family's dog did die.

The fire is believed to have started in the living room.

The cause is still under investigation.
