Judge Denies Request to Stop Voter ID Law

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A Wisconsin judge has denied a group's request to temporarily stop the state's new voter identification law from taking effect this month.

Dane County Circuit Court Judge David Flanagan denied the motion Wednesday for a temporary injunction. The NAACP filed the motion shortly after filing its lawsuit.

The NAACP's lawsuit included 40 affidavits describing plaintiffs' difficulties with complying with the law. But Flanagan says the affidavits do not sufficiently demonstrate irreparable harm to justify an injunction.

But Flanagan says measuring the law's impact is worth discussing in a trial. A court hearing is scheduled Monday.

Two other groups have filed lawsuits against the law. The League of Women Voters filed a lawsuit in Dane County Circuit Court. ACLU filed a lawsuit in federal court. Both are still pending.

Your story never changes. You just ramble on and on and on. When you are backed into the corner you resort to name calling. To bad you comment about nothing. The cost of the Recall is going to be paid by all of us. It wouldn't have had to happen if we would have had a sane person at the helm. This is a right of voters. I guess I wonder if you feel Walker has the right to take that voter right away too? If so pretty narrow minded of you. What about two lawyers instead of one going to a simple meeting? Doesn't this smell fishy? Just a simple explanation would do. One more thing explain how his stories with multiple sides will not hurt Walker. Many people wonder what story is true and what story will come out next week. Which story is false?

Every day we seem to hear more and more things about Walker. Just this week he is grabbing money from another group of people. Who will be next? These stories are hurting him. He still isn't passed the story about taking 2 laywers to a simple meeting for a discussion. These types of things people remember. They are wondering who will be the next person getting the Walker shaft. With Walker it nevers ends. One story after another and one lie after another. He is very good at speaking, (that is outside both sides of his mouth). Who will be next?

With only intent of voter fraud, tea party members signed recall petitions using fake names, such as Micky mouse. That tells me that in times past that republicans would use voter fraud at the voting booths. I think that this law is good for everyone with good intentions. Let's all work together to get to get all legal voters eligible instead of shutting out our fellow viable voters.

uh oh. Pubs will have to learn that their name is not Micky Mouse. Back to first grade.

Still doesn't dismiss the fact Walker and Co. will be voted out.If not arrested and in jail. If many people are vocal how can one say they are a minority.

Kris kris, kris you can be vocal and many at that which you are in many childish ways but that doesn't make you the majority. The majority won all three branches of Government, The majority won the last recall election you said you would win not,the majority won with prosser for the high court, the majority in every poll said they want ID in every poll says Scott Walker will again thats what a majority is what kind of denial are you in!! We don't go trash the capitol scream and shout like kids we want things fixed thats why Walker is in madison. Public workers and teachers should contribute to benfits just like the middle class have been doing for years We pay in 375.00 a month for the company I work and thats a cheap plan not like the unions get think about it they didn't care about us.

Why are still standing this fraud? I have more respect for Bob Dole and Richard Nixon and Ike and Barry Goldwater. They werent crooks these batch of CONservitives make Bill Clinton a saint. If there was upright republican I'll throw parade for him/or her. But as for the voter id law it's a crock and all of you know it. If it was problem now why weren't laws established a long time ago? Right now your butts are getting licked by the vocal majority the 99ers the unions. And you know it. Im seeing a shipp sinking and you guys are refusing to get in the lifeboats that's your business. We are offering a lifeboat. So what are you offering?
