UPDATE: 3:38 PM, Sept. 15, 2013

Deputy Chief John Lauer with the Rib Mountain Fire Department says a 20-year-old man was shot by a 22 in the side of the chest in a wooded trail in the Village of Kronenwetter.

Lauer says the man was likely hunting when he got shot, however it's unclear at this time what happened.

They believe there were two or three other parties with the man.

Paramedics say he was airlifted to Aspirus Hospital and said he was alert and speaking with paramedics before leaving the scene.

Emergency crews from Rib Mountain and Kronenwetter were at the scene. Paramedics say the man was shot about 20 feet away.

Reports suggest that a hunter has been injured near 570 Happy Hollow Road in Mosinee.

Mosinee and Kronenwetter EMS were dispatched to the scene around 2:40pm.

According to reports, a hunter was shot with some sort of weapon. It appears to be hunting related.

It sounds like the victim is being air-lifted from the scene.

A NewsChannel 7 crew is headed to scene to investigate. We'll have more details as they are released.
