A house explosion in Florence County sent one man to the hospital with serious burns.
It happened around 10:45 am Wednesday in Ellwood Lake. Officials say the 63-year-old man told first responders that he was trying to light the fireplace when the blast happened. According to WLUK-TV, he suffered burns to his face, hands and lower half of his body. The blast blew out a wall in the home.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
