Local Gamers Anxiously Await Play Station 4 Launch

Video game enthusiasts here in Central Wisconsin and across the world are anxiously waiting for the clock to strike midnight. That is because the Play Station 4 is about to go on sale to the public.

While huge lines are expected at some local stores, the Gamestop location at the Wausau Center Mall is trying out a new system to help keep crowds to a minimum.

The store is hosting a huge midnight launch party tonight in the store complete with live music and pizza. In order to make things easier for those who have preordered the game console, they have worked to find a less hectic system.

"We give everybody a number and that way we can actually sell each individual product one by one. That way we don't have customers trying to jockey for a position or anything like that. " explains Gamestop employee Adam Antonoc.

Store management says that some people signed up for PS4's all the way back in June. Nationwide Gamestop has had nearly 1.3 million pre orders for the new game console.
