(Press Release) WAUSAU, Wis. – The 16th annual Festival of Trees raised $158,000 in support of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

The event, which took place at Stoney Creek Inn in Rothschild during the week of Thanksgiving, saw several thousand guests participate in the special events and visit during the daily hours. The Festival featured more than 100 holiday trees, wreaths and specialty items that were available via raffle or silent auction.

“With incredible support from our community, we actually surpassed our fundraising goal for the event, which was $150,000,” said Kalynn Pempek, Executive Director of the Aspirus Health Foundation. “To be able to exceed our goal is a testament to the value that people place on the compassionate end-of-life care that is provided through Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.”

The proceeds from Festival of Trees will help support the Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services’ music therapy program as well as two community care rooms at Aspirus Hospice House for patients with identified financial need.
