The Park Ridge Fire Department and the Stevens Point Walgreens will host the 6th Annual Fire Safety Day this weekend in Portage County. The event starts at 10 am on October 12 and runs until 3 pm.
Parents and children are invited to the Stevens Point Walgreens, located at 10 Park Ridge Drive, for kid-centered education promoting Fire Prevention Week.
Kids will be invited to tour the smokehouse and learn what to do in case they are ever in a similar situation. There will also be fire extinguisher training and tours of the fire truck and hose wagon.
Families who attend will received a free 5x7 photo of their child in the driver's seat of the fire truck.
The Portage County Sheriff's Department will offer digital fingerprints for children from noon to 2 pm. Portage County Emergency Government will also offer child picture identification cards from noon to 2 pm.
