A 26-year-old Eau Claire woman has been sentenced to 30 days after pleading guilty to child neglect during a plea deal. Prosecutors say on February 2, Elyse Alix left her 2-year-old son in a running vehicle while she went into an Eau Claire bar.
According to WEAU-TV, if Alix spends the time in jail she won’t spend two years on probation.
A charge of operating while revoked was dismissed.
The initial report shows police said a woman found Alix's son leaning out the window of a truck outside the bar. Police say a witness told them that Alix had probably been at the bar for about 30 minutes and a breathalyzer put her alcohol level at .164.
