Charges are expected to be filed against a 52-year-old Forest County man accused pointing a gun at woman and firing a shot inside a home in the Town of Armstrong Creek.

According to a news release from the Forest County Sheriff's Department, around 8:30 pm on Sunday, a woman called her friend to say her husband fired a gun inside their home. The friend contacted authorities and passed along the information.

After a short time, Forest County Officials were able to make telephone contact with the suspect, Forrest Schaller, and negotiated a peaceful exit of the residence and Schaller was taken into custody.

Once Schaller was in custody, Deputies entered the house and found the female victim and a minor child to be safe.

Schaller is currently being held in the Forest County Jail on Attempted 1st Degree Homicide charges as well as other Domestic Abuse related charges.
