Cellcom is announcing a 4G LTE expansion that offers a boost to customers in Jaegler, Wittenberg, Halder, Spencer and Stratford.
“As a company, we are committed to ensuring that our customers in the small cities and rural towns throughout Wisconsin and Upper Michigan have access to the same technology that is found in major metropolitan areas throughout the country,” said Pat Riordan, president and CEO of Cellcom. “Our work to bring 4G LTE technology to our customers demonstrates this commitment.”
4G LTE technology improves data speeds, which is a major advantage in data-intensive activities such as streaming video and music, online gaming, and the rapidly growing number of activities with cloud-based applications. Customers can expect a snappier data and internet experience, with download speeds averaging 5-12 mbps and upload speeds of 2-5 mbps -- or about 10 times faster than 3G.
Cellcom’s 4G LTE network includes cell sites in Green Bay, Door County, Appleton, Oshkosh, Wausau, Manitowoc and parts of Oconto, Shawano and Marinette Counties.
