A crash involving an SUV pulling a trailer has significantly backed up traffic heading eastbound on Hwy 10 just east of Stevens Point.
A sergeant with the Portage County Sheriff's Department says a young child has been injured, but the age of the child and the extent of the injuries are unknown at this time. A female passenger has been seriously injured and six others have unknown injuries.
The child and female passenger were airlifted to St. Joseph's in Marshfield. The other 6 occupants were taken to St. Michael's in Stevens Point.
Sgt. Wills says the driver lost control of the vehicle, over-corrected, and then flipped into the median of the highway.
The crash is reported to have happened around 3:15pm, and traffic was backed up for hours until the scene was clean around 6:15pm.
The accident is still under investigation, alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor.
