Tom Barrett says it's time to focus on the real problems facing the state of Wisconsin and bring the state back together.
He stopped at the Democratic party headquarters in Wausau this morning, along with former Representative Dave Obey, who has endorsed Barrett.
Barrett told supporters, the Governor has broken his promise to focus on creating jobs in the state. He says the Governor has created a political civil war in Wisconsin with his policies on organized public labor.
"As long as Governor Walker is in office, because of the way he started, this state will be at poltical civil war, and people are tired of it. We have to find a way to end it. I will end it," said Barrett.
Former Representative Obey is from Wausau and retired last year. He says Barrett has broad enough support to defeat the Governor, along with the ability to bring political civility back to the state.
"It doesn't do any good if you win the election and can't change things afterwards and I'm convinced Tom Barrett has the knowhow and the skills to be the most effective person in the Governorship," said Obey.
Barrett and Obey will tour northern Wisconsin over the next two days, trying to drum up support before the May 8th primary.
