The cold weather isn’t dampening the Badger State Games, in fact they're looking forward to it this year more than ever. That’s because not only is in the 25th Anniversary of the Badger State Winter Games, but an unveiling of sorts for the Wausau Curling Center.
The ice has seen some competition already, but not the likes of Badger State Games athletes. They’ll be wearing out the ice all weekend while they compete in the best facility around.
Howie Fisher, co-commissioner of curling for the Badger State Games added on, “Ice conditions are unsurpassed anywhere else. It’s a beautiful facility capable of some enormous things and it’s just nice to have this here in Wausau.”
This weekend 32 teams will take the ice to compete for gold. And there are more sports to be seen. To find schedules and where events are happening go to www.sportsinwisconsin.com for a complete run down.
