The day started out early from the Central Wisconsin Airport.
Fifty-four guardians took care of 99 vets as they took off, landing at Reagan International Airport a couple hours later.
The vets were greeted by dozens of well wishers in D.C.
From there, the vets checked out the WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Lincoln Memorial and Air Force Memorials.
They also attended a changing of the guard at Arlington National Cemetery and the Marine Memorial, which is the famous statue of the raising of the flag over Iwo Jima.
On the flight home, the vets read letters of thanks sent to them from family, friends and even strangers.
And they were given a huge welcome home back at the Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee.
Two more Never Forgotten Honor Flights are scheduled for the fall.
