American Airlines and US Airways have approved a merger today that may give other airlines a run for their money.

The deal has an $11 Billion price tag and could create the world’s biggest airline.

Both companies say the merger will help them become more competitive in a market that has seen substantial growth with airlines like Delta and United.

However, for travelers that head through CWA, the usual ticket prices and daily flights may not see much of a change.

Tony Yaron, CWA Manager said, “In real dollar figures since the mergers of Northwest/Delta, United/Continental, and Soutwest/Air Tran we've seen prices go down even adjusted for inflation.

Tony added that if prices were to rise, they would do so because the price of jet fuel has also risen. For now though, American Airlines at CWA may not see an dramatic changes for awhile.
