AAA Wisconsin reports that the hours between 3 and 6 p.m. are the most dangerous for kids under the age of 13. Those hours usually involve pickup times at schools and day care centers, and are when kids may most likely be involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident.

AAA Wisconsin and local authorities warn drivers to follow all safety rules on the road and discuss them with your kids before they head out the door.

"We're a society that seems to be getting busier and busier and many times we don't manage our time; that can be problematic," says Lt. Dennis Saager of the Wausau Police Department.

Drivers are urged to slow down and keep their eyes on the roads, especially in school zones. Kids are encouraged to follow all safety rules either on the bus or walking to and from school.
