The PGA championship is just about the biggest thing going on in the state of Wisconsin Thursday night, and that may be bad news for area golf courses.
The course pros and managers we've talked with in central Wisconsin say they know of hundreds of people who will be heading to whistling straights to watch the PGA this weekend, which means they won't be golfing here.
"Well, that's for sure, it's down quite a bit," said Michael Oliva with the Rib Mountain Golf Course. "I'd say we're probably loosing maybe 10 percent."
But Oliva says the PGA may also end up helping them in the end.
He hopes the event will create more interest in the sport and in turn, lead more people out to his course.
