On Wednesday more than 100 volunteers and people interested in organizing United Way fundraisers at their workplace learned how to do it.
They toured several organizations in Marathon County that benefit from the United Way.
The goal isn't only to show them where that money goes. Sue Haupt with the United Way says they're also learning tips and techniques for fundraising by networking with others.
"People learn from one another. Some of the vets that have been doing this for a while help the newcomers learn what works."
About 170 people attended the campaign kick-off. This is the second year for the event.
