Mall Rapist Suspect Charged

Thirty-four-year-old James Perry is accused of crimes that range from first-degree sexual assault to kidnapping. The charges were filed Thursday by the Dane County District Attorney.

Officials say Perry is linked to a long string of attacks against women at shopping malls, including the attempted abduction of a 13-year-old at a Madison Hotel. The crimes earned the nickname "mall rapist" attacks.

Police took Perry into custody a couple of months ago. He's been jailed on a child pornography charge. Officers say numerous alleged victims have been picking his face from police lineups.
