It may have been a wet start Sunday morning, but that didn't stop a group of ambitious walkers who are trying to make a point about education funding.
The 'Walk on the Child's Side' group is making their way from northcentral Wisconsin to Madison on foot.
They're doing it to draw awareness for what they say is a lack of funding for education in the Badger State.
"It's one of those things where you can pay for education now, or pay for more prisons later," said walker Teri Hanson. "It's a good investment in our future."
Hanson says education should be the state's top priority and is petitioning the state's lawmakers to put more importance on education funding.
