A non-profit in Minocqua is helping to aid the earthquake victims.
Volunteers at 'Boxes of Love' are working around the clock to collect needed medical supplies for the country.
'Boxes of Love' has been working for years with an international group to help Haiti and other Caribbean countries get needed supplies.
And once organizers heard news of the 7.0 quake, they say they jumped into action to help the island nation.
The group has been collecting donations and boxing up the supplies.
Organizers say they've received a lot of support from the community already, but more is needed to help the Haitians overcome this tragedy.
"Some of the basic supplies are buckets to carry water, blankets, medical supplies especially gloves and masks, and they also need canned foods like meats and fish," says Karen Metzger, Chairman for 'Boxes of Love.'
But there are a few things the group isn't looking for, like clothing.
It takes up too much space that could be better used to send wheelchairs and other emergency equipment.
Donations can be dropped off Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the center's distribution center off of Highway 70 West in Minocqua.
'Boxes of Love' will make their shipment to Haiti as soon as the ports are cleared of rubble, hopefully by mid-February February.
