A hazardous materials unit was called to the Weyerhaueser plant in Rothschild Sunday morning after a chemical spill.
Shortly after midnight, nitric acid spilled inside one of the buildings. Emergency crews responded to the scene and the acid was neutralized.
Wausau fire officials say no one was hurt as a result of the spill and there is no threat to the environment.
