Three days after bringing home the gold ball, the Edgar Wildcats are back in school celebrating their big victory with their community.

The school's principal says the celebration is a way for the community to give back to the team, who's shown them hope and determination throughout the past year.

"These kids gave to this community hope that when you set a goal you can achieve it, and not only achieve it but do it in a fashion they did it," said Principal Tim Raymond.

Sunday the players and coaches were greeted with a standing ovation when they entered the gym to receive their first place medals. The team says after a year's wait they were finally able to finish their business in Madison with a win.

This is the fifth state title the Edgar football program has won.
