A Stratford fisherman's catch is 3 lbs. shy of setting a state record.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, 70.5-pound Buffalo Carp was caught by Mathew Schillinger of Stratford.

Schillinger used a bow and arrow at Castle Rock Lake, west of Adams.

The DNR says the fish was weighed on a certified scale and missed the hook and line record by about 3 pounds.

Rough fish can be harvested with a bow and arrow.
