Runners were off to the races in Stevens Point Saturday for an event that organizers hope will spur more foot races for the area in the future.

The 2nd Annual Bock Run was held Saturday afternoon.

The event helps promote the Point Brewery's seasonal Bock beer and helps raise money for future races in central Wisconsin.

Despite the wet weather, runners say the course was in perfect condition.

"It's five mile, it's flat, it's fast, it's an outback course right along West River Drive, which is right along the Wisconsin River. It's a beautiful course," said Bill Devita, Race Organizer.

About 500 runners made it out to the race Saturday.
