An extensive search for a missing Wausau mother is underway. Investigators and volunteers are in the UP looking for evidence in the Deanna Zueleger Scantlin case.

Forty-one volunteers are spending their weekend digging through a landfill in Menominee, Michigan. That's where Dale Robinson's garbage is taken. Robinson is charged with kidnapping Deanna Zuelger Scantlin and police believe her murdered her and dumped her body.

When investigators found out where Robinson's trash is taken, they called the Waste Management Company and asked them to rope off that section of landfill.

Now search crews must dig through 10 to 15 feet of compacted garbage for evidence. They remove six inches of material at a time and then put it on a conveyor belt so each piece can be examined.

Crews will continue searching Sunday. Then they will decide if they should continue searching during the week.
