The looming pilot strike may have hurt business at CWA lately, but it was following a record year at the airport.

About 304,000 passengers passed through CWA's gates in 2003. That's more than any other year in the airport's history.

Airport manager James Hansford says the banner year is thanks to a number of factors, including good scheduling and an improving economy.

"People have been using the airport," said CWA Manager James Hansford, "fares have been good, service up to this point has been good, and we thank everybody in the community using c-way."

Hansford says passengers should expect construction during the new year on one of the runways, but that shouldn't affect the level of service.
