"I can't see paying 40 percent more to the American pharmaceutical manufacturer for the very same product that's sold in Canada."
That's from one person at the first in a series of town hall meetings leading up to Doyle's state of the state address. Doyle made the run to Stevens Point after a stop in Tomahawk, and says yes, your input is important.
"It's proven to me to be very helpful to go out," Doyle says. "I've done this a number of times now. Basically had an open mic, said to people get up and tell me what you have to say, and you get a lot of great ideas that way."
A junior at UW-Madison wanted to hear Doyle talk about jobs.
"In a couple of years, I'll be looking for a job and obviously, I'd like to stay in the state if I could, but I can't really take a pay cut just to stay in the state," says Andrew Finn.
Jobs, education, the cost of medication, all the issues Wisconsin residents will hear more about in the governor's state of the state after he hears from the residents first. Other meetings will be held in Green Bay and La Crosse among other places.
His state of the state address is Wednesday January 21.
