The Ronald McDonald house in Marshfield is getting set to celebrate its 20th anniversary this week.
Sunday the house was open to the public, allowing donors and anyone else who was interested a chance to see inside the home away from home for families with sick children.
"It's warm and comfy and homey," said Sandy Zyrgarlicke, House Director, "it's $5 a night if they can afford it, it's free if they can't. They get a key; each family gets a bedroom and parking space."
The house caters to families with kids ranging from newborns to 21-year-olds and relies mostly on donations to operate. In addition to that, they hold fundraisers and receive money from area McDonald's restaurants.
