American Transmission Company is studying a possible line from here to Shawano. It says old equipment and increased use has created the need for more power.

"And that's why you're seeing people developing power plants," said ATC Spokesperson Jackie Olson, "If we have no way to get the electricity from the power plants into the homes, the power plants are no good."

Olson says the increased electricity is not only important to homeowners, but needed to attract new business, as well. The process is only in its planning stages. The public service commission will hold a meeting next week at the cedar creek holiday inn to get input on the project.

The PSC has not yet made a final decision on the other line.
