The Wood County Sheriff's Department says a Marshfield home is a total loss after it caught fire Tuesday afternoon.

Crews responded to the residence on Klondike drive just before 2:30 p.m.

No one was at home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured.

The Sheriff's Department says the home is a rental unit owned by Steven and Pamela Hoffman of Rural Marshfield. Joseph and Arla Micke and family were living in the home. The family lost everything inside the home.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation at this time.

The Sheriff's Department, along with crews from the Townships of Cameron, Richfield, Lincoln and Rock responded to the scene. The Red Cross also provided assistance.
