If you're in the market to buy a new TV, plasmas are cheaper than ever. In some cases, you could save hundreds of dollars.

We took a look at the price differences at Best Buy in Rib Mountain. Workers say the difference in price between a 40" plasma and LCD TV is more than $1,000.

They say the reason prices dropped is because plasmas have been around longer. In fact, some popular brand names like Pioneer no longer make plasma televisions and eventually could be phased out.

But the plasma still isn't a bad buy.

"If your room is right for it, it's by far the most economical and you get a great picture with it," said Best Buy Home Theater Supervisor Brad Ament.

He says most people enjoy viewing LCD's more because those have no glare, unlike the plasmas.
