MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A report that examined Gov. Jim Doyle's travel records shows the governor and his staff failed to properly account for 145 travel expenses over two years.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A report that examined Gov. Jim Doyle's travel records shows the governor and his staff failed to properly account for 145 travel expenses over two years.
The report published Sunday was a collaboration between the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism and a University of Wisconsin-Madison journalism class.
According to the report, in 2007 and 2008, Doyle and his staff supplied travel receipts as required under the state travel policy only about 25 percent of the time.
Doyle's travel included a $5,200 business-class flight to Ireland and a $654-a-night stay in a London hotel.
Susan Goodwin, Doyle's chief of staff, says the governor's office acted appropriately in all cases. She says the governor won't change how he tracks travel expenses.

now i finally understand why we are getting all the tax increases ! they must have had more expensive hotels in London. my expenses are up due to tax which lowers my income even more. sure is nice to know our governor is comfortable. WAKE UP PEOPLE
this need further investigation and if they are covering up something they need to held accountable.
