SUAMICO, Wis. (AP) -- An orphaned cougar cub from the state of Oregon has a new home in the Green Bay area.

The 8-week-old cat was found near Klamath Falls, Ore., last month by two men collecting firewood.

The cub might have been euthanized, except for the intervention of Colin Gillin of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and Oregon zookeeper Michelle Schireman.

Officials arranged for the female cub named Gillin to be shipped to the NEW Zoo in Suamico (SWOM'-i-koh) where keepers expect she'll bond with the zoo's 7-year-old female cougar named BB.

The cub arrived Tuesday and will be in quarantine about a month before she can be seen by visitors.
