KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) -- A Kenosha city bus crashed over a retaining wall at the Lake Michigan shore Tuesday, coming to a stop with its front wheels suspended over a staircase and benches at the water's edge.
Witnesses said the driver was slumped over the steering wheel as the bus went out of control.
Police Sgt. Hugh Rafferty said the 63-year-old woman driving the bus was taken to Kenosha Medical Center for treatment of injuries that weren't life threatening.
Rafferty said the driver told police that after trying to stop the bus, the next thing she remembers was a passenger trying to wake her. She said she hadn't been feeling well for a couple of days.
Four passengers were not injured and got off the bus on their own.
