A Portage County man says he's guilty of the murder of his ex-girlfriend.
According to online court records, 54-year old Walter Lassa of Plover entered the plea during a court appearance in Marathon County Monday morning.
Three other lesser charges were dropped as part of the plea deal, but will be read-in or considered by the judge at sentencing. It's scheduled for August. The judge also ordered a pre-sentence investigation in the case.
Court records say Lassa shot Robin Dunwoody twice with a shotgun outside Wausau Manor, where she worked in January.
Investigators say he admitted his role in the slaying, saying quote-- "if I can't have her, nobody can."
