The man who went on a shooting spree in Cross Plains and killed two people in a dispute over an ex-girlfriend will not have a chance at freedom.

During the sentencing hearing on Friday for Charles Witzel, a judge handed down the sentence of life behind bars with no chance for parole.

The judge also sentenced Witzel to 15 additional years in prison for the shooting of another woman at the apartment.

Witzel was also charged in another murder in a different county.

He pleaded guilty in that case and will be sentenced in two weeks.
