Shooters from across the country gathered in Rosholt for the Fourth Annual Wisconsin Six Shooter State Championship.

More than 40 shooters of all ages from across the country brought out their holsters and single action colt 45's for the Fourth Annual Wisconsin Six Shooters State Championship in Rosholt on Saturday.

The event benefits the United Way.

The Event, which was held behind the Merryland Ballroom, which both male and female categories. Winners received points from the shootout towards their season totals, as well as a hand gun and belt buckle for first place.

The event also had two young shooters compete for a chance at state glory. Jerry Kirschling, a founding member with the Wisconsin Six Shooters, believes the organization's willingness to involve participants of all ages is helping build the popularity of the sport.

"We're doing it for the youth and that's a pretty big push for our organization is getting the youth..."

Zack Parnahm, 12, Stevens Point, shoots in the competition and practices at least twice a week to be as accurate as possible.

"It's just for fun i guess, i like doing it," said Parnham.

Since the event began five years ago, it has raised at least five hundred dollars each year for the United Way.
