The state has completed a tentative budget plan to make up its $6.6 billion shortfall, but with major cuts to school aid included in the plan, many local educators aren't happy, and that's why they're encouraging people across Wisconsin to take a walk on the 'child' side.
On June 16, people from across the state are invited to Madison for "Walk on the Child Side," a demonstration asking legislators to stop cutting schools' funding.
The walk will celebrate the 10th anniversary of "Walk on the Child Side," where the Price County Citizens who CARE organized a walk to tell the government a similar message.
This year's walk will begin at Library Mall at 11:00, and end at the capital at noon, with several speakers along the way.
