The Department of Natural Resources says they remain concerned this Wednesday with a combination of high winds and dry conditions.
The mix are just two reasons they've raised the fire danger in our area to 'Very High'.
Forest Ranger Matt Slater says even though it may seem like common sense, they're reminding everyone of a couple of things to keep in mind if your planning on having a campfire.
Slater says you want to be careful where you build your fire. You also want to make sure you have a hose or a bucket of water nearby in the event the fire gets out of control.
The DNR says when you leave, its important to always pour water on the fire even if you think its out.
Slater says campfires have been known to rekindle hours and even days later.
