A powerful tool is now taking part in the search for a missing Wausau mother.

Thirty-three-year-old Deanna Scantlin disappeared Sunday. She was closing bar in the Town of Norrie and never came back to her trailer in the campground.

On Wednesday, a K-9 Emergency Response Team from the Fox Valley spent hours searching the area and a nearby lake.

"We are not the end all be all. We try to clear areas, lakes and ponds and see if we can find who they are looking for," said Michelle Metzner, the team leader for the K-9 Emergency Response Team.

"Helping out the family anyway we can. It is very important for all of us," said Shawn Metzner, a K-9 handler with the team.

The search for Deanna will continue on a day to day basis.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Marathon County Sheriff's Department at (715) 261-1200.
