AMERY, Wis. (AP) -- Polk County authorities say two men drowned in Lake Wapogasset after their boat overturned at night.
The bodies of 28-year-old Joshua Meline of Deer Park and 27-year-old Travis Foss of Amery were discovered by a search team on Thursday morning. The submerged boat was found in 24 feet of water.
A woman, 19-year-old Cassandra Meyers of Deer Park, was also in the boat when it overturned and was sleeping when she awoke in the water.
She swam to shore and walked nearly a mile to a home to use a telephone to report the incident.
Meyers told authorities the three had been drinking on shore before getting in the boat around midnight.
Amery is about 60 miles northwest of Eau Claire.
