While grocery shopping can be one of the most difficult things to control in your budget, there are ways to save money on your bill, without having to sacrifice what you want.
We're bringing you a week long series of special NewsChannel Seven Super Saver reports today we put savings ideas to the test by going out and shopping with the experts.
The director of operations at Trig's came out to go shopping with us, to prove just how much you can save with the savings ideas he gave us.
So do they really work?
Both of us were given by workers two different lists to show the difference of how much you can save while you shop.
We both shopped for the same ten items, including extras every family picks up like mac and cheese.
When we both headed to check out the difference in price was astounding. His total using the super saver ideas saved him $27.35. That's a 35% difference.
Although we both got the same things, there are several reasons why he saved more.
"He combined a lot of different store discounts that we offer for our shoppers," said Kindl Midlikowski, Director of marketing at Trig's.
The experts proved without a doubt shopping for the stores own brand is the biggest money saver. The prices did come close to a few items, like the mac and cheese
Alan was even able to cheat and go off the list, because he had a coupon to get a certain type of ice cream for free he got online.
"He got his free item of the week which happened to be the Stone Ridge Ice Cream so you put that into his cart with no charge," said Kindl.
Although the demonstration didn't slash the bill in half, it showed us all how you can save, without having to sacrifice what you want.
"There are so many ways to save money and when times are tough and budgets are tight it's just a matter of finding what the best way to save is," said Kindl Midlikowski.
It always pays to shop around and compare the deals.
The week long NewsChannel Seven Super savers series continues Wednesday where we'll show you some easy cost saving ideas on how to save money on your car.

Doubt you have the guts to put this on the air, but if you want to save money on gas, DO NOT BUY IT IN WAUSAU. I recently drove to Cincinnati Ohio. The highest price for gas on the entire trip was in Wausau. Why don't you run a series on gas prices in Wisconsin? I would love to hear the BS fron local suppliers on why they usually have the highest gas prices in the state!! I would appreciate a response with your list of excuses why none of this will ever be aired.
