The study shows that drug and alcohol abuse is far above the national and state average. Portage County is at 12.7 percent compared to the national average of 7.4 percent.
The survey also shows that drug and alcohol abuse is rising in kids; the average age is 13, and that number is decreasing each year. There are resources available in the county and in the school districts.
