Jefferson County District Attorney David Wambach filed the charge of first-degree intentional homicide against 34-year-old Derek Anderson.

He was extradited earlier to North Carolina to face a murder charge there. Now, authorities will seek to extradite him back to Wisconsin.

Anderson's North Carolina attorney, Stephen Lindsay, says he plans to meet with Anderson today to decide whether to fight extradition.

The remains of Anderson's father were found in a forest in North Carolina. Anderson's mother and brother disappeared along with his father in 1998. Those two have never been found.
