Granite Peak started making snow late Wednesday afternoon and the cold temperatures have allowed that routine to continue. Many are anticipating opening day.

Operations manager Vicki Baumann says they're hoping to begin their season the day before Thanksgiving, but if the temperatures stay the way they are, then opening day may come a little sooner.

Crews have been preparing since summer. They've added the Comet Express, a high speed chair lift.

"That's gonna be a huge addition to a nine minute ride it's now three minutes so more ski time for people coming up," Baumann says.

Granite peak is also hiring for the season. To apply, log on to their website at www.SkiGranitePeak.com, or call at 715-845-2846.
