Marquette County, Wis. (AP) -- An Oxford couple is accused of using a fake law firm to mail items to their son, an inmate at Waupun Correctional Institution.

The mail could not be screened by the Department of Corrections because it would violate lawyer-client privileges.

Seventy-one-year-old Harry and 69-year-old Carole Gabelbauer are facing felony charges of being party to delivering illegal articles to an inmate.

Prosecutors say the couple sent information about witnesses to their son, 45-year-old Harry Gabelbauer, to help his appeal of a 60-year prison term for sexual assault and conspiracy to commit homicide.

In a criminal complaint, Carole Gabelbauer said the couple has spent more than $120,000 in legal fees defending their son and would do anything to get him out of prison.
